Tensegrity Ceiling Installation
first year studio—TEXAS A&M UNIVERSITY
spring 2016
instructors: alireza borhani + bara safarova

COLLAB : ADELINE KIM+JASON CASTO+MICHAEL VANDERMATE+JESSIE BULLARD

This 40' long ceiling installation was a commission from the Texas A&M Department of Architecture. Tensegrity was researched and explored in the production of the installation. Tensegrity can best be explained as the production of structural integrity through a balance of continuous tensile elements with discontinuous compression elements.
