plaster triangle

2.5D TESSELLATION
FIRST YEAR STUDIO—TEXAS A&M UNIVERSITY
SPRING 2016
INSTRUCTORS: ALIREZA BORHANI + BARA SAFAROVA
This is a simple fabrication exploration on 2D patterns that can be expressed in 2.5D through a process of extrusion, suppression, and ultimately the manifestation of shallow relief. The object was digitally designed and CNC routed  in high density foam. The positive foam was then used to make a silicone negative and then used to reproduce the object in plaster.
