rambles
Academia has challenged me to speculate on what a future built environment could be and has given me the power to comfortably articulate my opinions on what it should be but when asked to explain what I am specifically interested in designing, my short (perhaps naive) response is everything! I find joy in crafting the expansive world of things that engulf us. It is fascinating how the world around us, the container of our existence so quickly falls into the background of our consciousness but how through intentional design, speculation, and representation, that world can be brought to the forefront of our attention, revealing problems and more importantly solutions. I consider myself... still young, and in no place to marry a definitive purpose, path, camp, etc. so at this point I am adopting a very explorative and inquisitive attitude towards the built environment. Nothing is out of question and everything is up for discussion. Architecture has instilled in me a fabulous curiosity of the world around us as well as a desire to contribute to this world - through design, at all scales from trinkets to towers. For this reason, I consider myself an opportunist - I like taking opportunities that both excite and terrify me, particularly in things that I have never challenged myself to do, professionally, academically, socially, and personally.
