Shape Cram

CORE PREP—HARVARD GSD
FALL 2019
INSTRUCTOR: ANDREW HOLDER
This project explored a workflow that oscillates between 2D and 3D and digital and physical. The project began by generating 2D patterns that were then imagined as 3D volumes that were then fabricated and placed within a cube. The pieces were used as negatives for plaster casting and the resulting product of the cast became the project which was once again translated back into digital workspace for architectural resolutions such as programming and circulation. The final resolved architectural object was constructed with vellum, basswood, and bristol (pictured).
